189 choreographers from all over Europe applied
The second international internet-dancefestival SideBySide-net 2006 has been a great success. 189 choreographers from all over Europe applied for taking part. Only the best ten were nominated and thus had the unique opportunity to present themselves and their art to a broad international audience over a longer period of time.
In just three months, the festival participants’ choreography-videos have been watched and voted online by more than 30.000 people from all over the world. The audience’s favourite piece was “Lovers & other strangers” by Rafaële Giovanola from Bonn, who presented her repertoire live on stage on the 9th and 10th of March in Düsseldorf, carried away audience and critics and that way brought the festival to a glorious closure.
The strong positive feedback by artists and viewers likewise proves that innovative art can be mediated successfully by using new ways of presentation. Our goal is to further give dance and talented artists a new presence in people’s minds. In those regards, not at last we owe our success to our partners and sponsors.
