"During my career as a dancer I have often been confronted with pain, operations or accidents within my profession. Therefore I asked myself if the excessive attention on our own bodies might exceed the borders of human understanding. Do we suffer from hypochondria?"

Maura Morales received an education in classical ballet, modern dance, choreography, acting and folklore at the national art academy Camaguey in Cuba. Since then she worked for the national theatres of Ballet National de Havana and Ballet de Santiago de Cuba, at the Ballet el Sodre in Montevideo, at the Teatro de la Danza de Cuba, at the Odeon-Theater in Wien, at Theater der Klänge in Düsseldorf, at the Theater Basel und at the national theatre Darmstadt. In 2007 she won the second prize for choreography at the 11th international solo-dance-theatre-festival in Stuttgart.
