Henrik Kaalund studied dancing mainly at John Cranko School, Stuttgart und David Howard's School of Dance in New York. At the Baseler Ballet he took part in the numerous productions of Youri Vamos: "Spartakus", "Der Nussknacker" and "Dornröschen".

Around 1989-2003 he danced at Cleveland Ballet in Cleveland-Ohio USA, Ballet Arizona in Phoenix-Arizona USA, Dortmunder Ballet und at Conny Janssen Danst in Rotterdam-Netherlands. Since 2003 he works as a freelance choreographer and dancer for the above mentioned companies, for Ballet Hildesheim and for Ballet Greifswald in Germany as well as for several other occasions. For his excellent choreographies he received prizes in Hannover, Leipzig and Burgos.
