"Sero means a ritual that presents the idea of dance without dancing. It based on minimal movements with extreme simply structures. Building up from there a choreography that depends on its own rules.
The funeral shows a moment where dancing is impossible and movement creates a schema of symbols that were transformed and repeated by an constant beat. Time structures transfer the missing contact in between the dancers into a communicating company they became single parts of it."

Before Carlos Maria Romero devoted his life to dance he finished his studies of finances and foreign relations in Bogotá. After his graduation he started his dance studies at the Academia Superior de Artes de Bogotá and entered the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen in 2001 where he finished his studies in 2005. In Colombia, he dances for Ricardo Rozo and Sandrine Legendre. He choreographs several Solo-, Duo- and Group-pieces and dances in productions of Carlos Sampaio, Fa Hsuan Chen, Samir Akika, Kuo-Chu Wu, Leonard Cruz, Jose Limón, Norbert Steinwert and Pina Bausch.
For his choreographies and dance performances Stücke "&Co." (2003) und "Sero" (2004) he has been awarded several prices at the Choreographer competition Burghausen as well as at the international Dance Festival of Canary Islands. In the beginning of 2006 he is voted by the audience to be the winner of Side by Side -net 2005. As the festival's final show, he presents his winning piece "Sero", another Solo with Geraldo Si called "Information Information" as well as his latest piece ",usw.Sie".
