"A Shot In The Dark tells about the attempt of an approach and the impossibility to meet. In the tension-filled area of curiosity and distrust, attraction and disgust, desire and fear, the protagonists are again and again thrown back on their own and gesticulate in a kind of vacuum. In an air bubble, they court for the favour of their own reflection. The result is a power game in which one endlessly reflects but does not show."

Birgitt Bodingbauer works as freelance dancer and choreographer in Berlin. She danced in several pieces of Yael Schnell, Dan Pelleg (Batsheva Dance Company) and Jennifer Man (Zen in the Basement), as well as in productions of Im Hebbel am Ufer and Tacheles in Berlin. In 2007, she and Andriana Seecker and Christin Maaß founded “Nightmare Before Valentine” to produce their own unique dance theatre.
Since then she has worked with dancers, actors, musicians, video artists or life-sized stuffed animals on several stages and various public places in Potsdam, Berlin and Dresden. „Nightmare Before Valentine“ is concerned to take contemporary dance out of its culturally marked-off, elite surrounding and make it accessible to a significantly diversified audience. Dogma: Shake it, baby, dance is awesome! Further info: www.nightmarebeforevalentine.de
