Massimo Gerardi had professional engagements at Balletto Comunale di Firenze, Aterballetto, Stadttheater Augsburg Teatro la Fenice-Venezia, Ballett Nürnberg, Ballett Dortmund, Ballett Linz and Staatstheater Oldenburg, just to name a few. He danced in choreographies by William Forsythe, Rui Horta, Jacopo Godani, Birgit Cullberg, Amanda Miller and others. Massimo won choreographic prizes at Competitions in Firenze, Treviso and Hannover. In 2000, he received a scholarship for choreographic studies from Kunststiftung NRW hosting at Icelandic Ballet, Nederlands Dans Theater, Göteborg Balletten and Komische Oper Berlin. Today, he co-directs the free-scene group "Movingtheatre" in Cologne, within which he created several dance–theatre performances that have been awarded and were invited to national and international festivals.
